Our Centers at Bentota are CONFIFI MARINA / CLUB INTER SPORT
Set on an idyllic 2000 m2 land sandwiched between the Indian Ocean and the Bentara River these centers have with in their building complexes - a Welcome Bank, a Classroom , a Changing room , Toilet /Shower Facilities , Storage Room for the Clients' equipment , Compressors/Tanks Room and a Workshop.
4 Hard Hull Boats with 50 CV outboard engines each 27 Feet long which could accommodate 10 divers per boat are used to ferry the divers to the sites at an average speed of 14 knots per hour.These Boats are fitted with a GPS - Echo Sonar and are complete with a mobile telephone and an extra tank in case of an emergency.
The Centers are complete with 25 BCD "Vieux Plongeur" (XL/XS) , 30 Regulators (Scubapro and Sherwood),110 Tanks (Steel and Alu 12 L), Shortys - ABC - Leeds,Compass, Depth Gauges, Parachutes, 1 SEA & SEA MX 10 for rent. , 2 Compressors BAUER K14 etc
The Supporting Crew comprises of 4 Captains (Coxswain Licenced) , 8 Boatmen and 1 Compressor-Boy.
An experienced Instructor (PADI/CMAS) and two Divemasters conduct the activities in these centers.
Our daily schedule provides for a Pleasure Dive for two hours with the departure at 0900hrs and a second dive for continuity of pleasure and/or other purposes or courses for two hours departing at 1100 hrs.
The afternoons are kept free for Theory, Pool Sessions and "Try a Dive" in the Hotel's Pool.
We are extremely careful about our Dive Sites and currently operate in twelve different dive locations, which are reachable within a maximum speedboat travel time of 20 minutes.These sites which are at depths ranging from 4 to 35 meters comprise mainly of Rock Formations with Flower Corals and offer a varied relief as Caves, Canyons,Walls.etc.
Few examples are as follows:-
Mada: Rock formation ranging from 4 to 20 meters, perfect for beginners as well as advanced divers where big shoals of fish and interesting macro life are the main attractions.
Siri: A spectacular Rock Formation including Walls, Tunnels and swim-throughs with few fish.
Shark Point: Two rocks and coral formations ranging from 17 to 32 meters complete with high concentration of big Game Fish

In these sites it is normal to find High concentrations of Coral Fish such as Parrot Fish, Angel Fish, Butterfly Fish, Fusiller Fish, Snappers.etc; Crustaceans such as Lobsters, Shoe lobsters, Octopus etc; the big Game Fish such as Groupers, Stingrays, Jacks, Tunas, Barracudas, and turtles, the rare species such as Mantas, Whale Sharks, Whales etc; the beautiful Sea Fans, Black Coral, Nudibranches etc which collectively form the colorful ocean environment.
We dive with a maximum of 4 in homogeneous groups always guided by an Instructor .However provision is there for divers in buddy system to dive without an Instructor after agreement with the Instructor
The average Water Temperature is 30°C in all depths . Dive time is limited to 50' due to decompression conditions.
These two Centers are open from mid November to late March with ideal conditions with calm waters devoid of any currents and maximum visibility being available from around the 20th of December until about the 15th of March.

The following are offered at these Centers.
INTRODUCTORY DIVE
The first immersion for non-divers for approximately 20/25 minutes at a depth of 6 meters , individual basis with an Instructor. Strictly speaking it is not a course but an easy and safe way to discover the underwater world and get an orientation into Diving.
RESORT COURSE
This course includes 2 Pool Sessions in one afternoon and an Open Sea Dive the next morning and is the shortest way to become a diver.The Diver will not be entitled for a Certificate but will be issued with a Stamped Log Book.This Course will form the first part of the PADI Open Water Course. Thereafter the student can purchase other Pleasure Dives or continue with the PADI Open Water Course.
PADI OPEN WATER COURSE
This internationally recognized course includes 4 Theory Sessions, 4 Pool Sessions and 4 Open Sea Dives and will entitle the Diver to be issued with a Certification Card and a Log Book. The Course can be completed with in a period of 4 to 5 days where after the student can purchase other Pleasure Dives or continue on to the PADI Advanced Course.
REFERRAL PADI OPEN WATER COURSE
As the PADI Open Water Course is modular, the Diver can complete only the missing modules of training. If the course is not fully completed, the modules passed are valid only for one year.
PADI ADVANCED COURSE
This course is more in the nature of an experience program than a real course and includes 5 different dives viz Deep Dive, Orientation Dive, Naturalist Dive, Peak Buoyancy Dive and Photo Dive. Upon completion, a Certification Card will be issued. This course can be done just after the PADI Open Water Course.
REFRESH POOL SESSION
This is meant for the "rusty" divers who want to up to date their skills before starting on their pleasure dives.
We will provide all Diving Equipment and Educational Materials during the conduct of the above courses.
As relevant a Medical Statement ( max 01year old .), a Certification Card (PADI, CMAS, SSI, FFESSM.etc) and a Logbook will be required to undertake Dives.
Any other course can be organized on request.
